The old religious right is facing a decline in Christian principles. I see the grandparents here from the bible belt wanting to force Jesus on everyone. The truth is getting out that Christians do not have a higher moral or ethical standard and wish only to add to their numbers. Television has done great damage to our children but possibly the Science/Discover/National Geographic channels will push them into science and out of mythology. Remember that Colorado is where the uberChristian Air Force Academy sits.
It is time Darwin is also taught in the schools. No one should ever fear the truth.

I have a theory about forcing Christianity in the schools. Church leaders are realizing that the kids have no concept of Jesus Christ. They don't, because their parents don't.....
If you stop anyone on the street as ask them what is the difference between the 10 Commandments and the Bill of Rights they will hesitate. If I throw in "Freedom of Speech" they claim it is in the Bible. I think Dan Brown has done more for religion than the televangelists can even imagine.
I bought my house here in Arizona in 2005 and had called ahead to get my phone, utilities and television cable turned on. When I arrived and connected my television it had only 3 channels of televangelists and I flipped out! My God, what did move into?
For three days I kept the tv on to see if it was a glitch and became fascinated with the bullshit these ridiculous people were selling. It turned out that the previous owner wanted nothing but Christian channels and the Cable company had to release the other channels. This is Arizona where I doubt there is a high school graduate found. They do pray because I was told at a meeting that they pray for California to have a major earthquake and kill off all the people. I would bet none of them got through the new testament ever!
There are no Christians any more. They have their ministers mark their ballots and their cars are covered in little fish and crosses so that nobody would ever doubt the owner was a Christian. In public they are rude and treat clerks and hair dressers like dirt. The majority of them come from Kansas, Missouri and the other bible belt states. They are all heavily armed and will shoot anyone who annoys them. They are looking for a leader to bring them together for the revolution taking over the Federal Government and making America into a Christian nation. They worship Sarah Palin.
The value of my home has slipped and there is no market for this part of Arizona.
