I met Paul Kurtz years ago at a convention and somehow (it may have been jet lag) assumed he was talking about a new religion. I am now trying to study the concepts of Humanism as many have "accused" me of being a Humanist. I read the Manifesto and it pretty much describes my agenda.
My interests were directed to asking outright why millions of Americans declared themselves to be "Christians." The attitude in Humanism is not to attack Christians but when literally hundreds of my associates in person and on line cannot tell me a single reason to believe in Jesus Christ; I have to question their analytical actions.
Everyone I have asked in person, will no longer make eye contact with me as they absolutely believe I am a heretic sent by Satan.
My search is now focused a political movement based on a more human point of view in America. Apparently 30% of the infants born in America are programmed to believe they were sent by God. They came with a truck load of sins and should spend their awake hours asking for forgiveness for their actions.
This limits their imaginations and their discovery attitudes. Their lives continue to be self centered and even illiterate when it comes to culture and literature.
Why did I see through this false attitude when I was 9? It has made me an outcast all my life. I was not a brain child but a beach bum. I rejected much of my family's list of horrible people. I could never accept the concept of heaven and hell.
