It is a non scientific and possibly dangerous medical practice. But ironically pays to those who practices. Homeopaths are laughing at us on their way to bank.

There was a big demonstration in the Yookay this weekend, against Boots (the biggest chain of pharmacies) which has started selling homeopathic remedies. People took massive overdoses, to demonstrate that these things have no active ingredients. The contradictions are wonderful to behold: They criticise "big pharma" but the firms selling this woo are making fortunes. They criticise standard evidence-based medicine as harmful but have managed to get themselves exempted from any requirements to produce evidence that their remedies are useful (and not harmful) and protest like mad at any suggestion that such evidence should even be required of them. They say the NHS should support them financially because people should be allowed to "choose" which medicines they have, when we have a whole system in which medical experts decide on which medicines it is appropriate for the NHS to fund on a cost/benefit basis (no Sarah P, this isn't a "death panel.")
